Cariaco is a lively town located in the state of Sucre, Venezuela. It serves as the main city, or capital, of the Ribero Municipality. This town is found a short distance up the Cariaco River. Its port, right on the coast, is called Puerto Sucre. Cariaco is also at the very top of the Gulf of Cariaco, which is home to the deep Cariaco Basin.
