After leaving the Cochran law firm, Carl Douglas worked on a very important case in 1999. This case was called Patricia Anderson vs. General Motors. In this case, General Motors was ordered to pay a huge amount of money, $4.9 billion. This was because a car's gas tank exploded, trapping two women and four children inside. Experts at the time said it was the largest payment ever ordered in a personal injury case.
