Carla Fendi was born in Italy on July 12, 1937. Her parents were Edoardo and Adele Fendi. She had four sisters named Paola, Anna, Franca, and Alda. Carla was married to Candido Speroni. They did not have any children.
Growing the Fendi Fashion House
In the 1950s, Carla started working with her sisters. They joined their family's business, Fendi. Their parents had started Fendi as a small shop in 1925. The sisters worked hard to make the company much bigger. It grew from a small store into a famous brand known all over the world.
After their father passed away, the sisters opened their own Fendi store in 1964. A year later, they hired a young designer named Karl Lagerfeld. He helped change the brand's style. From 1965 onwards, Fendi's bags, furs, and scarves became very popular. Many Hollywood stars loved them. In 1987, Carla helped launch Fendi perfumes. In 1989, she opened the first Fendi store outside of Rome. This new store in New York held all of Fendi's products.
Carla's Special Role
