Carlos Germano Schwambach Neto (born August 14, 1970), known as Carlos Germano, is a former Brazilian goalkeeper. He was a talented player who achieved great success.
Carlos Germano was part of the Brazilian team that won the 1997 Copa América. He also played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, where Brazil reached the final match.

Playing for Clubs
Carlos Germano started his football journey in 1985 in his hometown. A manager from Vasco da Gama noticed his talent. He invited Carlos to try out for their youth team.
In the same year, Carlos Germano became the main goalkeeper for Vasco's youth squad. He quickly showed his skills.
Becoming a Top Goalkeeper
When Vasco's main goalkeeper, Acácio, left the club, Carlos Germano stepped up. He became the team's first-choice goalkeeper right away. He helped Vasco win many important titles. In 1997, he was even named the best goalkeeper in the Brazilian Championship.
Moving to New Teams
In 1999, Carlos Germano left Vasco da Gama after some disagreements. He joined Santos in 2000. However, after one year, Santos could not pay his full contract. This allowed him to move to Portuguesa for free.
After that, he played for several different clubs on one-year contracts. These clubs included Internacional, Botafogo, and Paysandu. He even returned to his first club, Vasco, for a short time in 2004. His last club was FC Penafiel in Portugal, where he played until 2006.
Playing for Brazil
Carlos Germano also played for his country, Brazil, at different levels. He represented Brazil in the 1987 FIFA U-16 World Championship. He also played in the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship.
In 1988, he was chosen as Brazil's goalkeeper for the 1988 South American U-20 Championship. He played 9 matches for the senior Brazilian team between 1995 and 1998.
Coaching Career
After he stopped playing football at the end of the 2005–06 season in Portugal, Carlos Germano started a new career. He became a goalkeeping coach. He now helps other young goalkeepers learn and improve their skills.
