Carlos Johnson has been a big part of the Chicago blues music scene since the 1970s. He has also played on recordings for other well-known musicians, including Billy Branch and Son Seals.

About Carlos Johnson

Carlos Johnson was born in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. He started playing music in the 1970s.

In 1989, Carlos went on his first music tour to Japan. He toured with a singer named Valerie Wellington. Japanese blues fans really liked his playing!

He went back to Japan in 2004. This time, he played guitar for Otis Rush. Otis Rush was a famous blues guitarist who couldn't play guitar anymore because of a stroke. Carlos helped him perform. These concerts made Carlos very popular in Japan.

Even though he played music for many years, Carlos Johnson didn't release his own album until 2000. That year, his first CD, My Name Is Carlos Johnson, came out. It was recorded in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He was also featured on a CD by Billy Branch and The Sons of Blues in 2002. Carlos and Billy Branch made an album together in 2004 called Don't Mess with the Bluesmen. Another CD, In and Out, was released the same year.

In 2007, Carlos released a live album. It was called Live at B.L.U.E.S. on Halsted and was recorded in Chicago. He toured Japan as a solo artist in 2007 and again in 2009.
