Carlos Seco Serrano was born in a city called Toledo in Spain. He lived a long life and passed away at the age of 96 in Madrid. He died during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He was a very respected scholar. On January 21, 1977, he was chosen to join a very important group called the Real Academia de la Historia. This is like a special club for the best historians in Spain. He was given "medalla nº 12," which means he held a specific, honored position within this academy. He officially took his place there on February 5, 1978. Being a member of this academy is a great honor for any historian.
