Carme Chaparro Martínez was born in Salamanca, Spain, on February 5, 1973. She is a famous Spanish journalist and a talented writer. Carme is known for her work on television, where she has presented many news programs and shows.

Carme Chaparro's Career in Journalism

Carme Chaparro studied journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, finishing her degree in 1996. She started her career writing for TV shows like Ciutadans and Generació X on TV3. She also wrote reports for the Sunday magazine of La Vanguardia newspaper.

Later, Carme worked as an editor for Cadena SER radio in Tarragona. She also directed and hosted programs on other local radio and TV stations.

Working at Telecinco

In 1997, Carme joined the news team at Informativos Telecinco in Catalonia. By 1998, she became a presenter and editor for their morning and midday news. She often hosted special programs, like election coverage and important political discussions.

From 2001, Carme presented the 2:30 PM news on Informativos Telecinco. In 2004, she became the main presenter for the weekend news, Informativos Telecinco Fin de Semana. She covered many big events, including the death of Pope John Paul II and major bombings in Madrid. She also reported on the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Royal Wedding in Spain.

Moving to Cuatro and Other Shows

After 12 years with the weekend news, Carme moved to Cuatro in 2017. There, she presented Noticias Cuatro from Monday to Friday. When that news program ended, she hosted Cuatro al día, a show about current events, in 2019.

In 2020, Carme returned to Telecinco to present Mujeres al poder. This show featured stories about powerful women. She has also co-presented Los teloneros and currently presents Todo es mentira and reports for En el punto de mira on Cuatro.

Besides her TV work, Carme is involved with the Club de las 25. She also writes for magazines like Yo Dona and Mujer Hoy.

Awards and Recognition

Carme Chaparro has received several important awards for her work.

In 2017, she won the Primavera Novel Prize for her first book, No soy un monstruo. This was a big achievement for her as a writer.
