Carmen Antimo Argenziano (born October 27, 1943 – died February 9, 2019) was an American actor. He appeared in many movies and television shows. He was most famous for his role as Jacob Carter in the science fiction TV series Stargate SG-1. He also had important parts in other popular TV shows like Booker, L.A. Law, Melrose Place, and The Young and the Restless. You might have also seen him in movies such as The Godfather Part II and Angels & Demons.

Life and Acting Career

Carmen Argenziano was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a nearby town called Sharpsville. His parents, Elizabeth and Joseph, were from Italy. He had three children: two sons and a step-daughter.

One of Carmen's most well-known roles was playing Jacob Carter in the TV series Stargate SG-1. In this show, he played a military general who later became a host for an alien named Selmak. This role made him very popular with science fiction fans.

He was also a lifelong member of the Actors Studio. This is a special place where actors can train and work on their craft. He won an award called the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Award. He earned this award for his great acting in a play called A Prayer for My Daughter.

Carmen Argenziano also appeared in other TV shows. For example, he was in House M.D. in 2007. He played a character who was pretending to be a doctor. In 2009, he was a guest star in the crime show Criminal Minds. He played a character named Father Paul Silvano in that episode.

Carmen Argenziano passed away on February 9, 2019. He was 75 years old and died from lung cancer.
