Carol Cheng Yu Ling (Traditional Chinese: 鄭裕玲), also known as Do Do, is a famous host and actress from Hong Kong. She was born on September 9, 1957.
Carol Cheng became very well-known for her role in the TVB series Man in the Net (1979-1980). She made history by being the first person to win both the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actress and the TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actress. Carol Cheng's Life Story
Carol Cheng was born in Hong Kong. Her parents were from Sichuan, and her family spoke Mandarin. She went to English schools in Hong Kong.
In 1975, after finishing high school, she joined an actor training program. The next year, she started her career as a TV host. When her first TV company closed in 1978, she moved to Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB). This is where she became famous as both an actress and a host.
Carol Cheng has hosted many popular shows. These include the Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant and the TVB Anniversary Awards. She also hosted fun variety shows like The Weakest Link. She was also known for hosting shows with the hip hop duo FAMA.
In 1984, Carol won the award for Best New Performer. She later won the Best Actress award in 1988 and 1991. In 2000, she won two big TVB awards: My Favourite TV Role and Best Actress.
After the 2000s, Carol stopped acting as much. She decided to focus mostly on hosting shows. In October 2022, she left TVB after working there for 44 years. She then started her own talk show on YouTube called the Do Show in June 2023.
