Caroline is a small, quiet place in Ohio, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Caroline is found in Venice Township, which is part of Seneca County. You can find it right along State Route 4, just a bit south of a town called Attica. People living in Caroline get their mail through the Attica post office.
History of Caroline
Caroline began its story in 1826. This is when the area was first "laid out," which means it was planned and marked for people to settle and build homes. The community got its name from a girl named Caroline. She was the daughter of one of the very first settlers in the area.
A post office was opened in Caroline in 1827. This was important because it helped people send and receive letters and packages. However, the post office didn't stay open for long. It was closed down just three years later, in 1830.
