Carreira (its full official name is San Paio de Carreira) is a special area in Galicia, Spain. It's one of nine "parishes" that make up the larger area called the municipality of Santa Uxía de Ribeira. Think of a parish like a small community or district within a bigger town or region.

Carreira is home to many small villages and settlements. Hórreo in Sampaio: An Hórreo is a traditional granary, a special type of building used to store corn and other crops. It's raised off the ground to protect the food from animals and moisture.
Sampaio Church: This is the main church in the area, dedicated to San Paio, which is where the parish gets its official name.

Celtic Hill-fort of Porto de Baixo: This is a very old site, a "castro," which was a fortified settlement built by the Celts many centuries ago. It gives us a peek into how people lived in ancient times.
