Castellet i la Gornal is a small town and area in Catalonia, Spain. It is a type of local government area called a municipality. This area is found in the comarca (a region or county) known as Alt Penedès.
The municipality is located in the beautiful valley of the Foix river. This river flows through the Coastal Range mountains. A large reservoir has been created by damming the Foix river. The main town hall, called the ajuntament, is located in the village of La Gornal. You can reach the municipality by the N-340 road or a local road that goes to Vilanova i la Geltrú.

History and Administration
For a long time, Castellet i la Gornal was part of a different comarca called Garraf. However, in 1990, there was a change in how the regions of Catalonia were organized. After this change, Castellet i la Gornal officially became part of the Alt Penedès comarca.
The local government is led by a Mayor. As of 2015, the mayor was Miguel Delgado Almansa.
Famous People
One well-known person from this area is the singer Marina Rossell. She was born in the village of La Gornal.
