The Castle of Guadamur is an old castle located in Guadamur, a town in Spain. It is a famous landmark in the region.
History of the Castle
The Castle of Guadamur was built a long time ago, in the 1400s. A person named Pedro López de Ayala started building it. Even after he began, people kept working on it for many years to make it strong and grand.
The castle stands on a hill, just east of the town of Guadamur. It has a main part that is shaped like a square. Around this main part, there are round towers. There is also a very tall main tower, called a keep, which is about 30 meters (almost 100 feet) high! This tall tower was important for looking out for enemies.
Over many years, the castle became old and damaged. But in 1887, a person known as the Baron of Cuatro Torres bought it. He had the castle fixed up and made it look new again. This restoration helped save the castle for future generations to enjoy.
