Catalunya Blaus Almogàvers was a rugby team from Catalonia in Spain. They also represented the Oriental Pyrenees region. This team played in a special league called Liga Superibérica.
The team started in 2009. It brought together players from several rugby clubs in Catalonia. These included UE Santboiana, which played in the top league. Other clubs like RC Sitges, CR Sant Cugat, and RC L'Hospitalet also contributed players. Even players from smaller clubs joined the team. The team hoped to include players from French teams in the future.
Their home stadium was the Estadi Baldiri Aleu. This stadium is located in Sant Boi de Llobregat, near Barcelona. The sports brand Canterbury of New Zealand made the team's uniforms. They also supplied kits for the other teams in the league.

The team's name, Almogàvers, comes from a cool part of history. The Almogavars were brave foot soldiers. They were very important to the Crown of Aragon in the Middle Ages. They helped Aragon become a strong power in the Mediterranean Sea.
The word Blaus means "blues" in Catalan. This name was chosen because of the team's blue jersey. Other famous rugby teams also use "Blues" in their name. Examples include the Cardiff Blues and the Auckland Blues.

Team History
The Catalunya Blaus Almogàvers played their first game on April 24, 2009. They faced the Basque Korsarioak team. Even though they didn't win, they earned a "defensive bonus" point. This point was very helpful later in the league.
The team had some ups and downs during the season. But they managed to finish fourth in the league. This was just enough to qualify for the "Final Four" tournament. The Final Four was held in Madrid.
In the semifinals, they played against La Vila Mariners. They tried their best but couldn't win that match. So, they didn't make it to the Grand Final. Instead, they played for third place against the Korsarioak again. They lost that game too. This meant they finished in fourth place in the league's first year.
