Catherine Daoust is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. She plays as a defender for the Montreal Victoire in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).

Catherine Daoust's Hockey Journey
Catherine Daoust started her hockey journey early. In 2013, she won a special scholarship. It was worth $1,500 from the Montreal Canadiens, a famous NHL team. This helped her continue playing and studying.
Playing in College
From 2014 to 2018, Catherine played college hockey. She attended the University of Minnesota Duluth. There, she played 140 games for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. She scored 37 points during her time there.
Catherine was also a great student. She was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team in both 2016 and 2017. In her final year, she was an assistant captain for her team. This shows she was a leader both on and off the ice.
Becoming a Professional Player
After college, Catherine became a professional hockey player. In 2018, she was chosen by Les Canadiennes de Montréal. This happened during the 2018 CWHL Draft. The CWHL was the Canadian Women's Hockey League.
She signed her first professional contract with the team. In her first season, she played 27 games and scored 5 points. She even scored her very first goal in her second game! Her team won that game 9–0 against the Worcester Blades.
Playing in New Leagues
In 2019, the CWHL stopped operating. Catherine then joined the PWHPA, which stands for the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association. This group helped women's hockey players continue to play.
In 2022, Catherine signed with the Montreal Force. This team was part of the PHF. She played one season with them. Later, the PHF was bought out to create a new league.
In 2023, Catherine tried out for PWHL Montreal. She did very well and earned a spot on the main team roster. She continues to play for them, now known as the Montreal Victoire.
Playing for Team Canada
Catherine has also played for her country. She represented Team Canada at the 2013 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship. She scored 3 points in 5 games during this tournament. Her team won the gold medal, making Canada proud!
Catherine's Life Outside Hockey
Catherine is not just a hockey star. She also has a strong educational background. She studied at Cégep de Saint-Laurent. She earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Her boyfriend started a platform called Until She’s Paid. This platform helps share stories about women's hockey players. It also works to encourage the NHL to support women's hockey more.
