Cecilia is a small community in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that looks like a town but isn't officially governed as one.
Cecilia is located about 6 miles (10 km) west of Elizabethtown. Elizabethtown is the main city and the county seat for Hardin County. In 2020, about 575 people lived in Cecilia. This number has stayed almost the same since 2010.
The community is part of the larger Elizabethtown metropolitan area. This means it's included in the area around Elizabethtown that has many people living and working there. Even though Cecilia has its own post office, some parts of the area it serves are now inside Elizabethtown's city limits.

History of Cecilia's Name
Cecilia used to be called "Cecilian Junction." This name came from its important location. It was where two train lines met. One line was the main route of the Illinois Central Railroad from Louisville to Paducah. The other was a branch line that went to Hodgenville.
Today, the main train line is owned by the Paducah and Louisville Railway. The branch line that went to Hodgenville now only goes as far as Elizabethtown.

Kentucky Route 86 is a main road that goes through Cecilia. This road ends just south of the community. It connects with U.S. Route 62, another important highway.
