A Look Back: Center Grove's Story
Center Grove was started in 1925. It was formed when two smaller communities, Pine Grove and Center Hill, joined together. In the 1930s, Center Grove had a few houses where people lived. By 1966, about 300 people called Center Grove home. Even in 1990, some houses were still standing. Over time, more people moved away, and it became a ghost town.

Center Grove is located in the southern part of Houston County. You can find it on Farm to Market Road 1309. This road is about 4 mi (6.4 km) northeast of a town called Lovelady.
School Days in Center Grove
Center Grove had its own school for a while. It was open in the mid-1930s and again in 1966. Today, students from this area attend schools in the Lovelady Independent School District.
