Central Park Plaza is a tall building complex in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska. It has 15 floors and is used for offices. The complex has two red brick towers. These towers are connected by a lower section on the first and second floors. There's a nice central courtyard and a big parking garage. A skywalk connects the garage to the main building. In 2007, special lights were added to the towers. They make the buildings look like a sunrise. The towers are shaped like a "V" and have been a key part of Omaha's city view since the 1980s.

History of Central Park Plaza
Central Park Plaza was built in 1982. It first held the main offices for a company called Conagra. Conagra started moving to a new location in 1988. By 1990, they had completely left the buildings.
Important Companies in the Towers
Over the years, many important companies have had offices here. These companies helped Omaha's economy grow. Some of them include First National Bank of Omaha, US West, and OPPD. Other companies like Norwest Bank and a part of Enron also used the buildings.
The Parkfair Mall and Its Changes
In 1983, a two-story shopping mall was added. It was called Parkfair Mall. This mall was built next to Central Park Plaza. It was hoped to bring more shops to 16th Street downtown. The mall closed in the early 1990s. In 2005, the building's owners changed the mall. They turned it into a heated parking area. It can now hold 125 cars.
New Life for the Plaza
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, many offices moved out. This made the buildings very empty. About 73% of the offices were vacant. In 2005, FirstComp Insurance company moved in. They made the south tower their main office. After some updates, they now use most of the north tower too. By 2009, FirstComp and Rex Risk Exchange put their signs on the towers. These were the first signs on the towers in many years.
Also in 2005, the first Starbucks in Downtown Omaha opened. It is on the first floor of the north tower. The first floor of the south tower has a fancy steakhouse. This restaurant, Sullivan's, opened in 2007. Both places have outdoor seating in the courtyard. The courtyard itself was updated in 2005. This update cost about $500,000.
