Centre Island (Australia) facts for kids
Centre Island is a small island in Australia. It's located in the Northern Territory, within a group of islands called the Sir Edward Pellew Group of Islands. This group is found in the Gulf of Carpentaria. No one lives on Centre Island.
Since 1968, a special weather station has been working there. It's run by the Bureau of Meteorology. This station helps scientists learn about the weather. The temperature on the island usually stays warm, between about 24°C and 31°C. It also gets a lot of rain, averaging over 1000 mm each year.
