The Centro de Comercio Internacional is a very tall office building, also known as a skyscraper, located in Bogotá, Colombia. It stands at 190 meters (623 feet) high and has 50 floors! Imagine how many stairs that would be. When it was first built, it was called Centro Las Americas.
This impressive building was once the tallest in all of Latin America. It held that title until the Colpatria Tower was built. Today, it's still one of the tallest buildings in Bogotá. Some offices for Davivienda Bank are located inside, as the bank recently took over the building's rights.
Building Design and Features
The Centro de Comercio Internacional has a unique look. Its outside walls are mostly made of shiny glass panels. On its sides, you can see a single line of windows going all the way up.
This building is very busy, so it has 17 elevators to help people get to all 50 floors quickly. There is also a large open area right in front of the main entrance.
A Tall History
When the Centro de Comercio Internacional was finished in 1977, it became the tallest building in all of Latin America. It kept this important record for some time. Later, the Colpatria Tower was built, which then became the tallest.
Today, the Centro de Comercio Internacional is the third tallest building in Bogotá. It stands proudly next to the Colpatria Tower, another famous skyscraper.
