Cerca de Ti (which means "Close to You") is a popular music album by the famous Mexican singer and actress Lucero. It was her fourteenth studio album and came out on February 24, 1998. This album was a big hit, selling over 600,000 copies in Mexico!
This was Lucero's fourth album where she sang with a mariachi band. Mariachi music is a traditional style from Mexico, often featuring trumpets, violins, and guitars. The album was produced by Rubén Fuentes, a well-known music producer. Cerca de Ti sold so well that it earned a "double-platinum" award in Mexico, meaning it sold more than 300,000 copies.
The song "Cerca de Ti" was first heard as a bonus track on an earlier album by Lucero. It was written by Rafael Pérez-Botija for a TV show called Los Parientes Pobres. The first song released from this album was "Corazón Lastimado" (Broken Heart). It became a Top Ten hit on radio stations in Mexico. Other popular songs from the album included "A Partir de Hoy" (Starting Today), "Desviste mi Boca" (Undress my Mouth), and "Te amaré toda la vida" (I Will Love You All My Life). Cerca de Ti was the last album Lucero recorded with her record label, Melody.
