Chadrack Lufile's Early Life
Chadrack Lufile was born in Zaire. When he was three years old, his family moved to Texas. At age seven, he moved to Canada. Chadrack first loved playing soccer. He started learning basketball later. He learned the game at Burlington's Assumption Catholic Secondary School. He became a very good player there. In his final year, he scored 20 points per game. He even scored 33 points in one game.
College Basketball Career
Chadrack Lufile played college basketball for two teams. First, he played for Coffeyville Community College. There, he averaged 11.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. After that, he joined Wichita State.
At Wichita State, he was part of a special team. In 2013, his team reached the NCAA Tournament Final Four. This is a very big event in college basketball. He scored 1.6 points and got 1.8 rebounds per game. On December 1, 2013, he scored 12 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds in a win against Saint Louis. A week later, he scored his highest points in college. He got 14 points and seven rebounds against Oral Roberts. In his final year, he started 11 games. He played in all 36 games. He averaged 5.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Professional Basketball Journey
Chadrack Lufile started his professional career in 2014. He was chosen in the NBA Development League draft. He played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The next year, he played in Chile for a team called Puerto Montt.
In the 2016–17 season, he played for the Cape Breton Highlanders in Canada. He averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game. In 2018, he needed money for his mother's medical care. He thought about selling his Final Four ring. But a fan from Wichita State helped him. The fan donated money so Chadrack did not have to sell his ring.
In November 2018, Chadrack joined the St. John's Edge. After three games, he moved to the Halifax Hurricanes. In his first game starting for them, he scored 14 points. He also got eight rebounds. In 2019, he played for the Guelph Nighthawks. This was their first season in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Later in 2019, Chadrack joined Estudiantes Concordia in Argentina. He averaged 7.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game there. He left the team in March 2020. On October 9, 2021, he signed with CSM Miercurea Ciuc. This team plays in Romania's top basketball league.
In March 2022, Chadrack was announced to play for DUC Dakar from Senegal. This was for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2022 season. In November 2022, he played for the Ivorian team ABC Fighters. This was for the 2023 Road to BAL tournament.
Playing for His Country
Chadrack Lufile also plays for the DR Congo national basketball team. He has represented his country in big tournaments. He played in the FIBA AfroBasket in both 2017 and 2021.
