Chambliss is a small, quiet place in Collin County, Texas. It's not a city with its own government, but rather an unincorporated community. In 2000, only about 25 people lived there. Chambliss is part of the larger Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area.

A Look Back: Chambliss History

Chambliss got its name from an early settler named Charles Chambliss. Around the year 1900, this community had a few important places. There was a cotton gin, which is a machine that separates cotton fibers from their seeds. There was also a church and two stores.

A post office opened in Chambliss in 1898. It helped people send and receive mail for a few years. However, the post office closed in 1903. After that, mail for Chambliss was sent from the nearby town of Anna. The number of people living in Chambliss stayed the same for a long time. From 1933 all the way through 2000, its population was about 25 people.
