Chaney Leonard White (born April 15, 1894 – died February 23, 1967) was a talented baseball player. People often called him "Reindeer" because he was very fast. He played as an outfielder in Negro league baseball for many years. His career lasted from 1920 to 1936.

Playing in the Negro Leagues

Chaney White played during a time when African American players could not join Major League Baseball. So, they played in their own leagues, called the Negro Leagues. These leagues had many amazing players. They played exciting games across the country.

White started his professional career in 1920. His first team was the Fort Worth Black Panthers. Soon after, he joined the Hilldale Club. This team was one of the best in the Negro Leagues. He played with them from 1920 to 1922.

His Teams and Career

Chaney White played for several important teams. After his first time with Hilldale, he joined the Bacharach Giants. He played with them for many seasons, from 1923 to 1929. He also spent time with the Washington/Wilmington Potomacs.

Later, he returned to the Hilldale Club from 1928 to 1932. During this period, he also played briefly for the Homestead Grays in 1930. He was with the Baltimore Black Sox in 1932.

In the mid-1930s, White played for the Philadelphia Stars. He was with them from 1933 to 1935. His final season was in 1936. He played for the New York Cubans that year.

Chaney White's long career shows his dedication to baseball. He was a part of an important era in sports history. He passed away in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1967.
