Chapin
History
Chapin has a short but interesting history. A post office was opened there in 1896. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It stayed open until 1912.
People say that the community was named after a person named Mr. Chapin. He was an early settler, or "pioneer citizen," in the area. In 1909, about 125 people lived in Chapin.
