Chardale R. Murray is an American politician. She is currently the Mayor of Hollywood, South Carolina. Before becoming mayor, she was a representative in the South Carolina House of Representatives. She served the 116th District from 2020 to 2022. She made history as the first woman to represent that district. She is a member of the Democratic Party.

Becoming a State Representative
In 2020, Chardale Murray ran for the South Carolina House of Representatives. She won the Democratic primary election. She then won the main election against Republican Carroll O'Neal. This made her the representative for the 116th District.
The 2022 Election
In 2022, Chardale Murray ran for re-election. However, she was defeated by Republican Matt Leber. This meant her time as a state representative ended.
Running for Mayor
On April 12, 2023, Chardale Murray announced she would run for Mayor of Hollywood, South Carolina. The election was held on June 6, 2023. Murray received 468 votes. She won the election, defeating the previous mayor, John Dunmyer III, and another challenger, Althea Salters. She officially became the Mayor of Hollywood, South Carolina, in July 2023.
