How the Bull Was Made
Arturo Di Modica created the Charging Bull in a special art foundry. A foundry is a place where metal is melted and poured into molds. Making the bull cost about $360,000. On December 15, 1989, Di Modica secretly placed the huge statue under a Christmas tree. This was on Broad Street, right outside the New York Stock Exchange.

The Charging Bull has become a symbol of financial power and strength. It represents the "bull market," which is when stock prices are going up. Many people visit the bull each year. They often take pictures with it. It is one of New York City's most popular landmarks.
