His Family Life

Charles Foxe was one of six sons. His father, William Foxe, was also a Member of Parliament for Ludlow. Charles's brother, Edmund Foxe, followed in their footsteps and also became an MP for the same area.

Charles married twice during his life. His first wife was Elizabeth Crosby. They had two sons and three daughters together. Later, he married Catherine Leighton. She was the daughter of Sir Edward Leighton from Shropshire. With Catherine, Charles had three more sons.

Charles Foxe's Political Career

Charles Foxe had a busy career in politics. He was elected as a Member (MP) several times. An MP is a person chosen by the people to represent them in the Parliament.

He represented the town of Ludlow in Parliament in the years 1539, 1542, 1547, and again in March 1553. Later, he also served as an MP for Much Wenlock in 1563. This shows he was a trusted leader who served his country for many years.
