Charles Ghigna (born August 25, 1946), also known as Father Goose, is an American poet and author. He writes books for both children and adults. He has created more than 5,000 poems and over 100 books!

About Charles Ghigna
Charles Ghigna is a very busy writer. He is famous for his many poems and books. He has written a huge number of poems and published many books for young readers and grown-ups.
Early Life and Education
Charles Ghigna was born in Bayside, Queens, which is a part of New York City. This happened on August 25, 1946. When he was five years old, his family moved to Fort Myers, Florida.
He later went to Florida Atlantic University. There, he earned two degrees. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968. Then, in 1970, he earned a Master of Education degree.
Becoming a Writer
In 1974, Charles Ghigna started teaching. He became a "poet-in-residence" at the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA). This meant he was a poet who also taught creative writing.
He also worked on a children's television show called Cabbages and Kings. In 1979, he taught creative writing at Samford University.
Publishing His Books
Charles Ghigna's first book of poetry for adults was called Returning to Earth. It was published in 1989.
He started writing poetry books for children in 1992. The next year, in 1993, he left ASFA. After that, he focused on writing full-time, especially for children.
Family Life
Today, Charles Ghigna lives in Homewood, Alabama. He lives there with his wife, Debra Ghigna, who is also an author. Their son, Chip Ghigna, is an artist.
