Sir Charles Edward Mott-Radclyffe (born 25 December 1911 – died 25 November 1992) was an important politician in the United Kingdom. He was a member of the Conservative Party.

Charles was the only son of Charles Edward Radclyffe, who was a military officer, and Theresa Caroline Mott. His family, the Motts, had lived for many years at a place called Barningham Hall in North Barningham, Norfolk.

Early Life and Education

Charles Mott-Radclyffe went to two famous schools. First, he studied at Eton College. After that, he went to Balliol College, Oxford University.

After finishing his education, he joined the Diplomatic corps. This meant he worked for the government in other countries, helping to build good relationships.

Becoming a Member of Parliament

In 1942, Charles Mott-Radclyffe became a Member of Parliament (MP). This means he was elected to represent the people of Windsor in the House of Commons. He won his first election in a special vote called a by-election.

He continued to serve as an MP for Windsor for a long time. He retired from his role in 1970. In 1957, he was given the special title of Sir.

His Family Life

Sir Charles lived at his family's home, Barningham Hall, in Norfolk. He was married twice. His first wife was Diana Gibbs, whom he married in 1940. She passed away in 1955.

A year later, in 1956, he married Stella Constance Harrison. Stella lived until 2011. Sir Charles had a daughter named Theresa Caroline Courtauld. She passed away in 2013 and is buried near her father.
