Charles Barnett (born September 23, 1954 – died March 16, 1996) was a talented American comedian and actor. He was known for his energetic performances and funny roles in movies and TV shows.
Life and Career of Charlie Barnett
Charlie Barnett was born in Bluefield, West Virginia. He became well-known in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He performed many comedy shows each day in outdoor parks in New York City, especially in Washington Square Park. People loved his lively and humorous performances.
In September 1980, Charlie tried out for the famous TV show Saturday Night Live. The show's producer was ready to hire him. However, Charlie decided not to continue with the audition. The spot in the cast then went to Eddie Murphy.
Charlie continued to build his career in film and television. In 1983, he starred in the comedy movie D.C. Cab. He played Tyrone, one of the main characters in the film. He also had a regular role on the popular 1980s TV series Miami Vice. In this show, he played a character named Neville 'Noogie' Lamont.
Later, in 1993, Charlie appeared on Def Comedy Jam. Even though his performance was not shown on TV at the time, it was included on a special DVD release. His last movie role was in 1996.
