Charlie's Early Baseball Days

Charlie Wooldridge was born in Allensville, Kentucky. He started his professional baseball career in the Negro leagues. These leagues were where many talented African-American baseball players played during a time when they were not allowed to play in the major leagues.

In 1928, Charlie Wooldridge made his debut with the Cleveland Tigers. He played as an outfielder and first baseman for the team. After his time with the Tigers, he continued to play baseball. From 1931 to 1932, he played for a team called the Scranton Progressive Colored Giants.

Charlie Wooldridge passed away in September 1982, at the age of 85.
