Joining Pontiac's War

Charlot Kaské first joined Pontiac as an ally in Pontiac's War. This war was a big effort by Native American tribes to stop the British from taking over their lands. They wanted to protect the Illinois Country from British control.

Standing Against the British

As Pontiac's War continued, things started to go badly for the Native American tribes. Because of this, Pontiac began to talk with the British about peace. However, Charlot Kaské felt very strongly that he did not want to accept British rule. He remained firmly against the British.

Instead of staying in British territory, Kaské decided to leave. He crossed the Mississippi River with other French and Native American people who also did not want to live under British rule. This showed his strong determination to protect his people's way of life and freedom.
