The Eagles' Story
The Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club began in 1991. They became a professional team in 1993 when they joined the USISL league. For a short time, the Eagles played in the A-League. However, due to money problems, they later returned to a lower league.
The Eagles are part of an organization called Missionary Athletes International (MAI). This group uses soccer to share messages about Christianity. The Charlotte Eagles also have a sister team, the Southern California Seahorses. Plus, there is a women's team called the Charlotte Lady Eagles, which plays in the Women's Premier Soccer League.
