Chase City is a small town located in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, in the United States. It was officially made a town in 1873. The town was named after Salmon P. Chase, who was an important judge and worked for President Lincoln. In 2020, about 2,053 people lived there. Farmers in the area grow crops like tobacco.

History of Chase City
Chase City has some interesting old buildings. Three places in town are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are important historical sites. These places are the Chase City High School, the MacCallum More and Hudgins House Historic District, and Shadow Lawn. They help tell the story of the town's past.

- Rufus Meadows was a baseball pitcher who played for the Cincinnati Reds.
