Chase James Seaton Griffin, born on September 12, 2000, is an American football quarterback. He plays for the UCLA Bruins college team. Chase is also known for being a leader in the world of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals. These rules let college athletes earn money from their fame. He has won two national NIL Male Athlete of the Year awards.

Early Life and High School Football
Chase Griffin was born in Santa Monica, California, on September 12, 2000. When he was 13 years old, in 2014, he was called a "prodigy" by ESPN. An article about him was even titled The QB most likely to succeed.
He went to Hutto High School in Hutto, Texas. In his senior year, Chase was an amazing player. He threw for over 4,000 yards and 51 touchdowns. He also ran for 415 yards and scored eight touchdowns. Because of his great performance, he was named Texas Gatorade Player of the Year. In 2018, Chase decided to play college football for the University of California, Los Angeles. He also had offers from five Ivy League universities.
College Football Career
Chase Griffin started playing for the UCLA Bruins in 2019.
First Season Playing (2020)
Chase did not play in his first year, 2019. He started playing in the 2020 season. His first chance to start came against the No. 11 Oregon Ducks. The main quarterback could not play due to health rules.
In his first college start, Chase completed 19 of 31 passes. He also threw for one touchdown. The Bruins lost a close game to the Ducks, 38–35. The next week, Chase led the Bruins to their first win with him as a starter. They beat Arizona 27–10. He threw for 129 yards and one touchdown in that game.
In the last game of the season against Stanford, Chase played again. The starting quarterback got hurt during the game. Chase had his best game of the season. He completed 9 of 11 passes and threw four touchdowns. Even with his great play, the Bruins lost in double overtime, 48–47.
