What is Chasing Homer About?
The story is told by a man whose name we never learn. He believes that only the present moment truly exists. He doesn't think about the past or the future. We don't know much about his past, except that he studied many old and difficult languages.
The Mysterious Chase
The main character is constantly running from people who want to harm him. We never find out who these pursuers are or why they are chasing him. The man shares his clever ways of surviving. He tells us about times he almost got caught. But he always managed to escape by hiding or moving in unexpected ways.
Travels and Thoughts
As he travels along the Adriatic Sea coast, the man thinks about many things. He talks about different ideas, like experiments on animals or how crowds can be influenced. His journey takes him to a guided tour on the island of Mljet in Croatia. Local legends say this island is where the goddess Calypso lived in Homer's famous story, Odyssey.
