Chauvin is a small community in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). In 2020, about 2,575 people lived there. Chauvin is part of a larger area called the Houma–Bayou Cane–Thibodaux metropolitan statistical area.

Where is Chauvin Located?
Chauvin is located at 29°26′49″N 90°35′37″W / 29.44694°N 90.59361°W. This means it is in the southern part of Louisiana. It is about a 45-minute drive southeast of a city called Thibodaux.
The United States Census Bureau says that Chauvin covers an area of about 4.7 square miles (12.3 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a very small part, about 0.21%, is water. West of the community, there is an area called the Bayou Chauvin Oil and Gas Field.

- Leonard J. Chabert (born around 1932) was a politician. He was a member of both parts of the Louisiana State Legislature. He represented Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes from 1972 to 1992.
