Who was Chenoweth named after?
The community of Chenoweth got its name from Justin Chenoweth. He was born in Illinois in 1825. Justin's parents, John Chenoweth and Nancy Rose, moved to this area in the 1850s and 1860s. They were some of the first settlers here.
Justin Chenoweth married Mary H. Vickers in Wasco County. This happened on December 9, 1852.
