Communities in Montpelier
Montpelier is home to several smaller communities. These are places where people live, but they are not officially separate towns or cities.
- Cherneyville is a community found where Cherneyville Road and Stodola Road meet.
- Ellisville is another community located at the crossing of County Road AB and County Road F. The historic George Halada Farmstead is in Ellisville. This farm is so important that it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
- Pilsen is mostly located along WIS 29, where it crosses with County Road V.
- Neuern is a community split between Montpelier and the nearby town of Luxemburg. It is found at the intersection of County Road N and V.

Montpelier is located on the western side of Kewaunee County. It shares a border with Brown County to its west. The town covers a total area of about 93.6 square kilometers (about 36.1 square miles). Only a very small part of this area, about 0.03%, is water.

In 2000, there were 1,371 people living in Montpelier. Most of the people living in the town were White. About 38% of the households had children under 18 years old. Most families were married couples living together.
