Cherry Hill is a fun place in Kaysville, Utah. It's a mix of a campground and an amusement park. This park first opened its doors on June 4, 1967. Back then, it was just a campground for people to stay.

Over time, it became very popular as a campsite. Because of this, the owners added water attractions. These were for campers to enjoy during the summer. Cherry Hill is still most popular in summer. This is because it focuses on exciting water rides. The park also has other cool things to do. You can play miniature golf or explore a ball crawl for younger kids. There's also Basketball on Trampolines, a rock climbing wall, and Arcade games. You can even try a Jungle Themed Maze and enjoy weekend concerts.

How Cherry Hill Began

Before 1967, the land where Cherry Hill now stands was a big cherry farm. It covered 38 acres. Many of the original cherry trees, over 700 of them, are still there today.

Grant S. Lloyd was the farmer who owned this land. He grew up right there on the farm. His father divided the property between his two sons. Grant got the southern part. It was two acres bigger than the northern part. He got it after losing a coin toss to his brother.

Grant later sold sand from those extra two acres. He sold it to the Utah Highway Department. They used it to make Highway 89 wider. Grant was happy to sell it. The sand in those two acres made it hard for his fruit trees to grow. He realized he could make more money from his land in other ways.

Since his land was near a busy highway, he made a plan. He teamed up with a Chevron gas station. It was built nearby. He also arranged for a restaurant to be built on his property. As these new businesses started, Grant and his wife planned something else. They decided to build a campground. This would bring in even more money.

On June 4, 1967, the campground officially opened. They called it "Crossroads Camping." It offered food, cheap gas, and a friendly place to stay. It was a great stop for travelers.
