Most of the township's land is part of the Thornapple River's drainage basin. This means that rain and water from this area eventually flow into the Thornapple River. The Thornapple River itself flows through the northern part of the township. A smaller river, the Little Thornapple River, also joins the main Thornapple River within the township.
