The Cheyenne Game is a classic board game from 1958. It was made by the Milton Bradley Company, a famous toy and game maker. This game is for two to four players and is based on the popular TV show Cheyenne.

The Cheyenne TV series was a western show that aired from 1955 to 1962. It starred Clint Walker as the main character. Many board games in the 1950s were based on popular television programs. This game is a typical track or racing style board game.

A second version of the game was also released. This edition featured Ty Hardin, who starred in another western TV show called Bronco, on its box cover.

What's in the Box?

The Cheyenne game comes with several items for players. You will find a game board that folds in half. It has cool pictures and a track for players to follow.

The game also includes a spinner, which tells you how many spaces to move. There are four different colored tokens, one for each player. Plus, it has four plastic "revolvers" and four plastic "bullets." These are used for a special part of the game.

You will also find six small cardboard obstacles. These obstacles look like things you might find in the Old West. Examples include a Rattlesnake and a bandit.

How to Play Cheyenne

Playing Cheyenne involves moving your token around the game board. Each player takes a turn spinning the dial. The number you spin tells you how many spaces to move your token forward.

Shooting Obstacles

Sometimes, you will land on a space that has a picture of a gun. When this happens, you must stop there, even if your spin would have taken you further. This is where the plastic revolvers and bullets come in!

You will set up one of the cardboard obstacles on its matching picture on the board. For example, if you have the snake obstacle, you put it on the snake picture. Make sure no other tokens are on the board near the obstacle.

Next, you place one of your plastic "bullets" on a special orange circle on the board. Then, you use your plastic "revolver" to "shoot" the bullet. This is a bit like playing Tiddlywinks, where you press down on one disc to make another one jump.

Your goal is to move or knock over the cardboard obstacle with your plastic bullet. If you succeed, you can continue your turn.

Winning the Game

Before you can finish the game, every player must "shoot" all six of the obstacles. Once you have cleared all six obstacles, you can try to reach the end of the track.

The end of the track is called the Pony Express Station. To win the game, you must land exactly on the Pony Express Station space with your spin. The first player to do this wins the game!
