Chico Benymon (born August 7, 1974) is an American actor, singer, musician, and fashion designer. He is well-known for playing Andre "Spencer" Williams in the TV show Half & Half. He also starred in the Nickelodeon TV series The Haunted Hathaways.

Chico Benymon's Career Journey

Chico Benymon started his career in 1999 as part of a music group called Trā-Knox. This R&B/Hip hop group was supported by famous artist Will Smith. They appeared on Will Smith's albums and on movie soundtracks like Wild Wild West and Men in Black II. One of their most famous songs was "Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head)".

From Music to Acting

Before his music group broke up, Chico started acting. He had a small role in the TV show Moesha. Then, he got a big role in the sitcom Half & Half. In this show, he played Andre "Spencer" Williams.

Chico also acted in TV movies. In 2006, he played the boyfriend of singer Fantasia in her life story movie, Life Is Not a Fairytale: The Fantasia Barrino Story.

Nickelodeon Star

In 2013, Chico joined the cast of the Nickelodeon family series The Haunted Hathaways. He played Ray Preston, a father who is a ghost. His character and his two ghost children lived in a house where a new family moved in. The show ran for two seasons. He even appeared as Ray Preston in a crossover episode with The Thundermans called "The Haunted Thundermans".

Returning to Music

In the early 2010s, Chico started making his own music again. He released songs online. In 2019, he released his first independent album called Don't Talk, Just Listen. He also worked with rapper Redman on a song called "Good Time".
