Chinacla is a small town, also called a municipality, in the country of Honduras. It is located in the La Paz area of Honduras.
About 8,000 people live in Chinacla. The main way families earn money here is by growing coffee. This makes coffee farming very important for the community.
Chinacla has some cool places to visit. You can see a big waterfall called El Chorro. There are also ancient caves that are thousands of years old. The people of Chinacla work hard to keep their old traditions alive. Many Lenca people live here, and they have many interesting customs, including special foods.
Who Lives in Chinacla?
In 2013, a count of the people in Chinacla showed there were 7,836 residents. Most of the people living there are Indigenous.
About 87% of the people are Lenca, who are an Indigenous group. Other groups include Mestizo (about 10%), Black or Afro-Honduran (about 1%), and White (less than 1%).
