The club was started in 1890. For some time, they were a "senior club," which means they played in a higher-level league called the East of Scotland Football League. They even played in the famous Scottish Cup.

Club History and Achievements

Early Years and First Wins

Chirnside United Football Club began in 1890. Their first big win was the Dudley Cup in 1920. This was an exciting moment for the team and their fans.

In 1925, the club joined the Berwickshire Junior League. Five years later, in 1930, they moved to the Border Amateur League. The very next year, they joined the East of Scotland League. They played there until 1939. Their best season during this time was 1934-35, when they finished as runners-up.

Playing in the Scottish Cup

For example, in 1936, they played Elgin City and forced a replay. This means the game was a draw, and they had to play again.

Later Years and League Success

Chirnside United returned to the East of Scotland League from 1966 to 1968. They played there again between 1976 and 1978. Since 1979, they have been playing in the Border Amateur League.

One of their most successful seasons was 1994-95. In that year, they won all their league and cup games in the Border AFA. They only lost two games overall that season. The club has also won the South of Scotland Cup three times. These victories happened in 1989, 2005, and 2009.
