Chloride is a small, quiet place in Iron County, Missouri, in the United States. It's not a big city or town, but an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city does. Chloride is located right next to a stream called Big Creek. It is also found along Missouri Route 49. The community is about 1.5 miles south of a place called Glover.
History
Chloride got its name from a place far away! A post office was opened here in 1904. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. The post office stayed open until 1953. The community was named Chloride because an early settler used to live in a place called Chloride, Arizona. It's interesting how names can travel from one place to another!
