Chlorodiloma millelineata is a type of sea snail. It's a marine (ocean-dwelling) gastropod, which is a kind of mollusk. This snail belongs to the Trochidae family, often called "top snails" because of their shell shape.

What Does the Chlorodiloma millelineata Snail Look Like?

This snail has a strong, thick shell. It can grow up to 19 millimeters (about 0.75 inches) tall. The shell's width can reach 21 millimeters (about 0.8 inches).

Shell Features

The shell has a deep hole called an umbilicus. This hole goes almost all the way to the top, which is called the apex. The shell looks a bit shiny. It is yellowish with long, wavy brownish-green spots and dots.

The top part of the shell, called the spire, is pointed but not very tall. The shell has six whorls, which are the spiral turns. These whorls have slanted lines on them.

The largest turn of the shell is called the body whorl. It has many uneven spiral ridges. These ridges are stronger and there are six of them on the bottom part of the shell. The spaces between the ridges also have slanted lines.

The opening of the shell, called the aperture, is slanted and rounded. It has a pearly look inside, with green reflections. You can also see folds inside the opening.

Where Does the Chlorodiloma millelineata Snail Live?

This marine snail lives only in Australia. It can be found in the Torres Strait and off the coast of Queensland. When a species lives only in one specific area, it is called endemic.
