Christopher Charles Dickerson, born on April 10, 1982, is a former American professional baseball player. He was an outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). Chris played for several teams, including the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, and Cleveland Indians, from 2008 to 2014.

Chris Dickerson's Baseball Career
Early Days and College Baseball
Chris Dickerson grew up in Hollywood, California. He went to Notre Dame High School. After high school, the New York Yankees picked him in the 2000 MLB Draft. But Chris decided to go to college instead.
He attended the University of Nevada. There, he played college baseball for the Nevada Wolf Pack baseball team. This was from 2001 to 2003. In 2002, he also played summer baseball for the Brewster Whitecaps.
Playing for the Cincinnati Reds
The Cincinnati Reds drafted Chris in 2003. He made his big league debut with the Reds on August 12, 2008. Just three days later, on August 15, 2008, he hit his first career home run. This was against the St. Louis Cardinals.
In 2009, Chris earned a starting spot in the outfield. He played alongside Jay Bruce and Willy Taveras. He was known for his great defensive plays. In 2010, he batted .205 for Cincinnati.
Time with the Milwaukee Brewers
On August 9, 2010, Chris was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers. This trade was for another outfielder, Jim Edmonds. Chris played 25 games for Milwaukee. He batted .208 with 5 RBIs.
Joining the New York Yankees
Chris was traded again on March 25, 2011. He went to the New York Yankees in exchange for pitcher Sergio Mitre. He played his first game for the Yankees on May 17. He got one hit and one RBI in that game. He was called up to the Major Leagues again in September.
Before the 2012 season, Chris was sent to the Class-AAA team. But he was called back up to the Major Leagues on September 1. The Yankees later released him in January 2013.
With the Baltimore Orioles
Chris signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles for 2013. He was called up to Baltimore on April 10. That night, he made his Orioles debut. On May 21, Chris hit two home runs in one game. This was his first time doing that in his career. On May 31, he hit his first "walk-off" home run. This means his home run won the game for his team. He batted .238 for Baltimore.
Playing for the Cleveland Indians
Chris was traded to the Cleveland Indians on July 7, 2014. He batted .224 for Cleveland. He was later taken off the team's main roster on September 9.
Later Career Teams
After playing for the Indians, Chris signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2015. He later had a second time with the Baltimore Orioles organization in 2016 and 2017. He played in their minor league teams.
Community Work
Chris Dickerson is also known for his work off the field. He is a founder of an organization called Players for the Planet. He started it with fellow baseball player Jack Cassel. This group brings professional athletes together. Their goal is to inspire communities. They want to help people learn about environmental issues. Many athletes are part of this foundation.
