Christopher Bryan Harrison (born July 26, 1971) is an American television host. He is best known for hosting the popular reality dating show The Bachelor on ABC. He hosted this show from 2002 to 2021.
Chris Harrison also hosted many spin-off shows from The Bachelor. These include The Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, and Bachelor in Paradise. He also hosted the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire from 2015 to 2019.

Early Life and School
Chris Harrison was born in Dallas, Texas. He finished high school at Lake Highlands High School in 1989. He then went to Oklahoma City University. He received a scholarship to play soccer there. While in college, he joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Television Career
Chris Harrison started his career in television in 1993. He worked as a sports reporter at a TV station called KWTV in Oklahoma City. He also worked for a horse racing channel called TVG Network. Later, he hosted a show about home design called Designers' Challenge on HGTV.
In 2001, Harrison hosted a short game show called Mall Masters for GSN. The next year, in 2002, he appeared as a guest on the TV show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. He played a music show host in one episode.
In 2008, Chris Harrison hosted the pre-show for the American Music Awards live on ABC. He worked with Carrie Ann Inaba and Nicole Scherzinger. The TV Guide Network (now called Pop) later hired him to host their live red carpet coverage for awards shows. This started with the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards.
In 2011, Harrison co-hosted a game show called You Deserve It with Brooke Burns. He also co-hosted Hollywood 411 on the TV Guide Network.
Hosting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
In 2015, Disney-ABC announced that Chris Harrison would become the new host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. He took over the role from Terry Crews. He hosted the show for four seasons, from 2015 to 2019. During this time, he was nominated twice for "Outstanding Game Show Host."
Other Projects
Beyond hosting, Chris Harrison also wrote a romance novel. It was called The Perfect Letter and was published in May 2015. He also provides the voice for the "Bachelor Whammy" on the game show Press Your Luck.
Leaving The Bachelor Shows
On February 13, 2021, Chris Harrison announced he would temporarily step away from The Bachelor shows. This happened after he faced criticism for comments he made about a contestant. In March 2021, new hosts were announced for The Bachelorette. In June 2021, it was confirmed that Chris Harrison had permanently left the franchise after 19 years.
Personal Life
Chris Harrison was married to his college girlfriend, Gwen Harrison. They had two children, Joshua and Taylor. In May 2012, after 18 years of marriage, they announced they were getting divorced. In 2018, it was confirmed that Harrison was dating Lauren Zima. She is a reporter for Entertainment Tonight. The couple got married in November 2023.
