Christopher Bryan Harrison, born on July 26, 1971, is a well-known American TV host. He is famous for hosting many popular reality shows. From 2002 to 2021, he hosted The Bachelor on ABC. He also hosted its spin-off shows like The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. Besides these, he hosted the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire from 2015 to 2019.

Early Life and School

Chris Harrison was born in Dallas, Texas. He went to Lake Highlands High School and finished in 1989. He then attended Oklahoma City University. He received a scholarship to play soccer there. While in college, he joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Chris Harrison's TV Career

Chris Harrison started his career in television in 1993. He worked as a sports reporter at a TV station called KWTV in Oklahoma City. He also worked for a horse racing channel and hosted a show called Designers' Challenge on HGTV. In 2001, he hosted a game show called Mall Masters.

In 2002, Chris Harrison appeared as a guest on the TV show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. He played a music show host in an episode.

In November 2008, he hosted the pre-show for the American Music Awards live on ABC. He worked alongside other TV personalities. Later, he anchored live red carpet coverage for awards shows. In 2011, he co-hosted a game show called You Deserve It. He also co-hosted Hollywood 411.

In April 2015, Chris Harrison became the host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. He hosted this popular game show until 2019. He was nominated twice for being an outstanding game show host.

In May 2015, Chris Harrison also wrote a romance novel. It was called The Perfect Letter.

He continued to host the reality dating shows The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise. He also provided the voice for the "Bachelor Whammy" in the 2019 version of Press Your Luck.

Leaving The Bachelor Shows

In February 2021, Chris Harrison announced he would take a break from The Bachelor shows. This decision came after he faced criticism for comments he made about a contestant. In June 2021, it was announced that he would permanently leave the franchise. He had been the host for 19 years.

Chris Harrison's Family Life

Chris Harrison was married to his college sweetheart, Gwen Harrison. They had two children, a son named Joshua and a daughter named Taylor. In May 2012, after 18 years of marriage, they announced they were ending their marriage. In 2018, it was confirmed that Chris Harrison was dating Lauren Zima. She is a reporter and journalist. The couple got married in November 2023.
